In India, where Section 377 may have been repealed, the classroom remains one of the most unsafe places for LGBTQ+ youth<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While schools preach equality in assemblies and decorate bulletin boards with slogans, the reality is far harsher for queer students:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    For many students who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or non-binary, school becomes a place to hide who they are<\/strong>, not express it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Some progressive schools have started LGBTQ+ clubs, introduced gender-neutral pronouns in forms, and brought in queer educators for workshops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


      In Chennai, a school recently welcomed a trans woman as a guest speaker on career day. In Mumbai, a student-led petition got gender-neutral toilets installed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      These are small wins \u2014 but they\u2019re planting seeds for a more inclusive, compassionate educational culture<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

      Dev\u2019s Voice, Finally Heard<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Dev didn\u2019t drop out. He found an ally \u2014 an English teacher who used his preferred pronouns and gave him space to talk. That validation helped him stay. Today, Dev runs a YouTube channel advocating for LGBTQ+ youth in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Because every child \u2014 regardless of who they love or how they identify \u2014 deserves to feel safe in school.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
